I first came across the Rosen Method in the late 80s when I happened upon an introductory workshop in London given by a Swedish practitioner. I was immediately struck by the kindness and simplicity of the work and the way it can penetrate to the deepest layers of holding. Within a few weeks, I was attending my first Intensive in Stockholm, with Marion Rosen, the founder. I was hugely impressed – and went on to train both in Scandinavia and the UK, qualifying in 2010.
My background was in writing and editing self-help books in the field of ‘natural living’ and for many years I’d been fascinated by the interplay between body, mind, emotions and spirit.
In my own life I’d come to realise how much I’d shut down my feelings and lacked grounding in my body, resulting in years of M.E. I was keen to find a way through, via self expression and bodywork and this I found in Rosen.
The Rosen Method offers a way to facilitate a sense of wholeness, authenticity and connection to the heart, by releasing unconscious attitudes and trauma and allowing the body to speak its truth. From that place of embodied awareness, people’s creativity, confidence and connections with others can also flourish.
